God Giveth and Taketh”: A Misconception About God’s Nature
June 12, 2025
In our world today, sound is everywhere—music, podcasts, conversations, the constant hum of our digital lives. But what many people overlook is that sound isn’t just noise; it’s a spiritual force that can deeply impact who you are.
One of the fastest and easiest ways for your spirit to be influenced or even corrupted is through the sounds you consume. It might sound surprising, but this is a spiritual reality. Sound doesn’t just touch your ears—it has a way of bypassing the natural senses and reaching deep into your spirit and soul, eventually showing up in your thoughts, actions, and even your destiny.
Think about it: have you ever caught yourself doing something you didn’t plan to, only to realize later that it was fueled by a song or a sound you had been listening to? Or perhaps you found yourself humming a tune you barely paid attention to at first? That’s not a coincidence. That’s the power of sound creating a lasting memory that can shape your life in subtle but profound ways.
The Bible paints a vivid picture of this. When King Saul was tormented by an evil spirit, it was the music of David’s harp that brought him relief:
“And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.”(1 Samuel 16:23)
This isn’t just an ancient story—it’s a spiritual principle. Music and sound are not neutral. They carry a spiritual power that can transform the atmosphere and influence your spirit.
The truth is, every sound is backed by a spirit. Each melody, rhythm, and beat is either inspired by God or influenced by lucifier. Remember that Lucifer himself was a master musician:
“Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God… the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.”(Ezekiel 28:13)
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!”(Isaiah 14:12)
Lucifer understood the power of sound—and even now, he uses it to manipulate, to deceive, and to distract.
This is why Jesus warned us to pay attention to what we hear:
“Take heed therefore how ye hear…”(Luke 8:18)
and Paul wrote:
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.”(1 Corinthians 15:33)
But the flip side is also true: sound can be a gateway to faith and spiritual strength when it’s rooted in God’s Word:
“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”Romans 10:17)
So here’s the challenge: don’t let anyone tell you that sound is just entertainment or harmless creativity. Every sound you let into your life carries a spirit. It’s either a channel of divine inspiration or a tool of the enemy. Guard your ears and your spirit, because what you hear today can shape your memories, your beliefs, and your very life tomorrow.
